Board Chair Welcome 2007
promises to be a very active and productive year for QUOIN. As I
assume the Chair of QUOIN, I am reminded of the dedicated individuals
who have preceded me in this position. They have been leaders who
have freely given of their time to represent you and our industry
on many important issues. I pledge to you that I will make that
same commitment.
To start the year, the Board of Directors has put
in place an excellent Business Plan for 2007. It sets out several
key goals, gives us a blueprint to follow for the year and is structured
so that we might easily measure our success.
Since the Texas Legislative is in session, 2007
will also be a legislative year. When our Representatives and Senators
are at work, we will be diligent in our oversight of their activities.
To that end, we will be in Austin to manage that oversight, and
we will be reporting those activities to you regularly. We also
need your help in contacting Representatives on key issues affecting
our businesses.
I would also like to urge each of you to consider
actively supporting at least one of the Chapter’s many special
interest forums. No doubt you or your staff has interest in Human
Resource issues, technology advances, or safety, just a few of the
opportunities available to you.
I am excited to be part of the QUOIN Leadership
Team, and look forward to representing you. Please let me hear from
you if you have any issues you would like addressed by your Association.
May we all have a productive and prosperous 2007!
