Student Competition
The student competition is an
event sponsored by QUOIN. It is an event in which universities build
student teams to tackle a simulated bid situation. The students
are given project information and are then allotted a short time
to prepare the bid and presentation materials, such as PowerPoint
presentations, charts, and proposal packages.
Students participate in this activity voluntarily, and present their
proposals to a panel of industry professionals as though they were
working for a company in the industry.
This event is a wonderful opportunity for students to get practical
experience putting together meaningful documentation expected in
the industry, as well as enables them to display their talents to
potential employers (QUOIN members are encouraged to be part of
the audience).
The competition has three categories: Construction Management, Design/Build
and Heavy/Highway. Each university may enter a team to compete in
each of these events.
